Females make up 50% of the swim coaching profession, but only a small percentage are in leadership roles or coach at the elite level.  The workplace on deck at practices or at swim meets is not always a friendly and welcoming place for females.  We are working to change that. 

 

The ASCA Women’s Symposium will be an opportunity for female coaches to explore, dialogue, and learn from others who share the same circumstances and challenges, yet have persevered and succeeded.  Topics will include navigating a male dominated work environment, building a strategic network, and becoming better prepared for leadership roles, whether with your employer, your professional association (ASCA, NISCA, CSCAA), or a governing body (USA Swimming, NCAA, AAU, High School Administration, etc).  The symposium will focus on the unique challenges faced by female coaches, and how to build supportive structures in your workplace. The day will include time for engagement activities and networking.  Participants will leave with an expanded professional network and resources they can utilize over the following days at World Clinic, and beyond!
